Yorkshire-based holding business Squirrel Storage has received £16 million in financial support from Barclays, it has emerged.
The funds were awarded for the firm’s new financial facility in Leeds and could help the business to expand on a national basis, reports the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Welcoming the “funding appetite” from Barclays’ commercial banking team, Squirrel managing director Jason Schofield told the newspaper: “Right from the start they demonstrated a proactive approach to our needs.”
A privately-owned firm, which offers data storage facilities to professionals, Squirrel Storage has shown steady growth in recent years both internally and through acquisitions, noted Graham Holland, relationship director for Barclays Commercial, in the article.
“We are delighted to be associated with the next phase in their [Squirrel Storage’s] development plans and this very much demonstrates our continued commitment to the corporate market at this time,” he added.
Business success was celebrated enjoyed by Leeds-based Northern Foods this week after third quarter trading performance figures revealed an underlying revenue increase of 3.5 per cent compared to the same period last year, reported the Yorkshire Evening Post.
